Buyer's Guide
Roll

Material

Diameter

Length

The roll, as the link between the board and the ground, has a major impact on rolling behavior and is unfortunately often underestimated. The purchase decision should be made depending on the skill level of the rider, among other things: the higher the level, the larger the roll diameter.

In addition, factors such as longevity or the ecological footprint should play a "roll” when choosing the roll. Should the roll be light (cork) or particularly stable (wood)? Do I use the roll mainly at home or is it my constant companion? Should it be water resistant or, more importantly, look stylish? Do I prefer things to be “slippery” but agile, or should the roll primarily give me safety? Should the roll be used as a fascia/massage roll? In order to be able to offer everyone the perfect roll, we have both cork and wooden rolls - each in different sizes - ready for you.

Since the choice of the roll is often not an easy decision, especially for inexperienced balance boarders, we have created this Buyers Guide. The following illustrations should help you in the decision-making process.

Balance board roles usually differ in three points:

WHY CORK

  • Cork is a natural product and is obtained from the bark of the cork oak. Our cork rolls come 100% from the Alentejo region in southern Portugal (which is great for surfing, by the way) and are manufactured under environmentally friendly and sustainable conditions.

  • Optimum grip/slip ratio: While rolls made of another material often tend to be very slippery, you always have control over your board on cork - without having to make any compromises in terms of ease of turning.

  • Light as a feather, extremely stable: In contrast to wooden rolls, cork rolls are particularly light and yet stable.

  • Low noise: The soft surface of the cork ensures almost noiseless and pleasant rolling.

  • Naturally water-repellent: This means that the cork roll can be used outdoors without any problems.

  • Insider tip: Our cork rolls are also ideal as a fascia/massage roll, for example after a long workout. This helps you to prevent tension in the neck and back area. – Your partner will thank you ;-)

The cork roll is an all-rounder and therefore our favourite!

WHY WOOD

  • Wood is a natural product. Since regionality is important to us and at the same time we only want the best for you, our wooden rolls come 100% from certified suppliers in Europe and are manufactured under environmentally friendly and sustainable conditions.

  • Stability: The longevity of the reel not only guarantees long-lasting boarding pleasure, but also protects your wallet and the resources of our precious planet.

  • Increased maneuverability: Due to the smooth and hard surface of the wooden rolls, turning is even easier. However, the increased ease of turning also brings with it an increased "risk of slipping", which is why this roll is particularly recommended for fearless and bold ninjas.

  • Quiet, pleasant rolling behavior: The roll is relatively heavy compared to other types of rolls. But this also has advantages! Thanks to the higher weight, the roll runs smoothly and firmly on the ground, for comfortable rolling.

  • High-quality, stylish look: Wooden rolls are sexy! Thanks to precise processing, they look classy and stylish at the same time. An absolute eye-catcher!

A grace destined for eternal life!
